Books Corner

Books are the best investment options - a wonderful friend, a well wisher and a great coach
This page contains various books that I read and plan to read in near future. Recently I adopted a policy of reading a book twice - first to read it faster in a matter of a week to understand the content and second over a period of few weeks taking notes with reading related materials. If I find it very informative or path-breaking, I write my views on the content, my reading experience and how I can put the things to practice to get most out of my investment (time). I often take notes while reading when it read a book for the second time. I usually skim through the chapters during the first read to decide whether I should invest more time in the book. The second reading is often longer and I reflect a lot. I write reviews on my blog while I am reading the second time.

Unstuck - Book Reviews

I often get queries on book reviews (which I am denying so far). I can do a book review and possibly write a review on my blog as long as the following criteria are met
  • I would like to give my views in a polite way so that it does not belittle the mammoth effort of author and publisher. Yet at the same time, I do not want to give a false review so that i lose credibility among readers. I appreciate when I like some portions and say what needs to be improved for some sections.
  • I will publish here on my blog (a prior permission is needed before posting it elsewhere. If you are planning to use the content elsewhere, please do inform early)
  • Prefer Hardcopy. I tend to complete it little faster
  • Contact me via email before sending me a book (so that we do not waste resources especially time and effort).
  • I can return your book or give to someone else (pickup has to be done at your end)
  • Theme: Technology, Leadership, Management, and Self-help
  • I can write reviews chapter by chapter and top it with a final overall review. Click on one of the books below to know about my reviews.
If you want to know more about the books, click the link (!!! Posts !!!) under each book. These posts provide an overview of the book, my notes that covers the book little deeper, the reflections and my recommendations.
